Our Art Camp for 2025 Spring was a super busy, fun packed 4 days ! Children from ages 7 to 10 experienced the art of printing. We had a Certified Art Teacher in house and called our camp "Print Extraganza " ! Having the opportunity to reach 120 children in 4 days was quite a challenge and we learned a lot in the process ! Looking forward to our next adventure !
The Thomasville Post Office's Casing for the Bomb Shelter door was painted with a mural by Hometown Artists in Collaboration with ReViLLEing of Thomasville, North Carolina. What an exciting experience it is for our members to be involved in this fantastic project. Eager for a new experience. To view the video, please click on the picture.
We began in 2018 as the Denton Artisans Guild located in Denton, NC. We grew as an Art Guild in our first few years and then Covid-19 hit and slowed us down.
At the end of 2020 we started meeting again, deciding it was more important to be a community of artists and crafters that supported each other and our community, rather than live in isolation and fear. We re-branded ourselves as "The Hometown Artisans Guild" so that we could be more inclusive of members from many small towns in the area, not just Denton.
We opened an Art Gallery located at Evenbrooke Marketplace located in Lexington, NC. This space gives our members a place to market their creative endeavors.
We meet once a month on the second Wednesday of the month at the Lexington Public Library located at 602 S Main St, Lexington, NC 27292. Our meetings/members classes are from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come to our meetings and find out what a crazy fun group of creative people we are.
Mission Statement: To serve our communities through the arts. That includes serving ALL people and all ARTS.
The Hometown Artisans Guild hosts a monthly Members Art Class the second Wednesday of every month, usually hosted at the Lexington Public Library. These classes are varied artistic mediums, taught by our members for our member. The cost per class varies based on supply costs, but typically is around $15 a class. We call all our classes, no matter the medium, "Art Therapy". You are sure to leave one of our classes lifted up in spirit and mood.
